Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday: LOOSE and TIGHT

My ongoing desecration of diminutive Japanese poetry forms

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday

Not done one of these in yonks!  Let’s put that right…

This week the challenge was to use synonyms for LOOSE and TIGHT.

clothes baggy like sails

billow in wild winds of greed

tossed as left salad

in exchange for sweet, rich fare

trousers slowly strangle me

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday: MYSTERY and ATTRACT

A tale of fear and things that go bump bump bump in the night

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday

This week the challenge was to use synonyms for MYSTERY and ATTRACT.  I used

Erectile issues

manhood diminished. Scared and

grave, consumes Blue pills

Now can’t sleep on his stomach

Wife hangs her towels on it

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 119 “Mystery & Attract,” #SynonymsOnly

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday: Whatever words I fancy

I so need boundaries if only so I have something to cross

Seems that it is a bit of a free for all this week and I can use whatever words I want.  How curious.  the limitations are usually rather liberating in an odd sort of way and complete freedom just makes me want to be even more stupid than usual.

I decided to open the nearest book and use the first word on page 58 and the last on page 101.  the book was Cosmic Traitor (Perry Rhodan 26) by Kurt Brand.  The words are THOUGHTS and MILKY.  They made me think of an Astronaut…

Once more to the stars

mind strays to places unknown

thoughts of escaping

the shackles of gravity

and his quite annoying wife

I took a few liberties there but if you know it you know it and now you’re singing it.

Woke Up, outta bed

dragged a comb across my head.

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday: PRAISE and Excite

Tanks a million

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday

This week the challenge was to use synonyms for Praise and Excite.  I used Eulogise and Rouse.

Spring oft eulogised

Roused from dark, rich mother earth

cold grip, slow released

mostly I see dog walkers

leaving their crap on the paths

I would point out that the crap belongs to the dogs not the walkers.  In no way am I suggesting dog walkers poo on the pavements.  I mean they might, but I never saw them.  Well apart from that once…but they never had a dog.  And it was winter and about 2 in the morning after a night out and all the toilets were closed.  So probably not the same thing.
