Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday: MYSTERY and ATTRACT

A tale of fear and things that go bump bump bump in the night

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday

This week the challenge was to use synonyms for MYSTERY and ATTRACT.  I used

Erectile issues

manhood diminished. Scared and

grave, consumes Blue pills

Now can’t sleep on his stomach

Wife hangs her towels on it

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 119 “Mystery & Attract,” #SynonymsOnly

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday: Whatever words I fancy

I so need boundaries if only so I have something to cross

Seems that it is a bit of a free for all this week and I can use whatever words I want.  How curious.  the limitations are usually rather liberating in an odd sort of way and complete freedom just makes me want to be even more stupid than usual.

I decided to open the nearest book and use the first word on page 58 and the last on page 101.  the book was Cosmic Traitor (Perry Rhodan 26) by Kurt Brand.  The words are THOUGHTS and MILKY.  They made me think of an Astronaut…

Once more to the stars

mind strays to places unknown

thoughts of escaping

the shackles of gravity

and his quite annoying wife

Check this out. It’s frightfully grown up.

Well it was when I set out…

sun slowly fading

first signs of autumn changes

dog shit ‘neath the leaves

Okay so I started trying to do a proper one but mostly I am then just drawn to images of leaves on the ground and we all know what leaves on the ground means right? No?  It means dog shit hidden by leaves.  You cant go running through the leaves and kicking them playfully anymore for fear of whipping up a Doberman turd into the face of a passing child or being late for school because you have to head back home to clean the crap out of the kids school shoes.

No, I am not ready for Autumn yet because it will inevitably make me grumpy and complain about dog owners a lot and it has so been a pleasant summer.

Haiku perhaps?

Let’s continue the summer theme shall we. There are some sights out there to be seen for sure.

Soaring temperatures

drunk shirtless methodone tramps

all the girls bits out

Today I did actually see what appeared to be a shirtless methadone tramp.  I think he had maybe lost his shirt though or left it in a dumpster because it didn’t seem to be about his person.  Curiously he also had one trouser leg rolled up to the knee whilst he wore the other in the more traditional fashion.

How do I know he was on something?  Well I don’t and I might be super judgy but I think walking down the middle of the road whispering to himself whilst staring wildly at passers by was a bit of a give away.

Still, I’m sure it was lovely to feel the sun on his back as he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the fine weather we are having.

On the matter of flesh well, you just head down to the market here and you’ll see what I am on about.  Whilst I am all for body positivity whatever your shape or size that doesn’t mean I support adults wearing childrens clothes to go and eat sausage rolls on a bench outside of the bookies.

😉
