As a balance to the inevitable avalanche of love and tenderness spewing into your WordPress feed this week I bring you these.
Old people loving
pendulous, gravity pulls…
think turkey wattle
A piece where I mention turkey wattle in an inappropriate way

I’m sure he chooses these words to test my self restraint.
Ronovan provides the words. Then a haiku follows. Though mine are kinda haiku in form only and I believe senryu in every other way.
geriatric slip
how quick their hips dislocate
like well cooked chickens
An attempt to defile love and the haiku form all at once

Fingers tight ’round throat
playful, pushing back boundries
too far, cold dead flesh
An attempt to defile love and the haiku form all at once

He watches and craves
from the shadows his love grows
restraining order
Both serious and playful. The Japanese would not approve
The haiku, so proud, tight, formal. So little saying so much. Mostly though I like to defile them with the ridiculous. Oh, and I know they’re probably Senryu. I struggle with boundaries a bit.
The eager bride groom
hungry for the wedding night
he arrives early

Shy wedding night bride
Red blush , blood flows to extremes
by morning less so
I don’t take many things seriously but I am going to make a concerted effort to do Colleen’s challenges properly.
Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday
I don’t take many things seriously as you probably know but I am going to make a concerted effort to do Colleen’s challenges properly when I do them. I have scant regard for the correct use of haiku and tanka and often do such beastly things to them but I think it is also important to show appreciation for the little blighters because they are so fabulous when done right.
This week the challenge was to use synonyms for BOND and SEEK. I used Love and Search. Does ‘t quite tick all the boxes but it’s something.
Grey sky and sea merge
Love lost beyond horizons
searching and waiting
eyes closed she feels cold waves crash
lost at sea but still she hopes
Don’t like it? That’s because it’s true.
Ronovan provides the words. Then a haiku follows. Though mine are kinda haiku in form only and I believe senryu in every other way and this week there are two. The second to get the taste of the first out of your mouth.
Body close to hers
warm hands on cold clammy skin
necrophiliac
quick read this
Close the curtains please
late night fridge trip, body shows
need to bleach my eyes

Second amendment
It’s your right to bare arms
and murder school kids.
Seems there was another school shooting in Kentucky. Seriously people…
Clown. Joyful japing
smiles on the face of children
but dying inside

they sing his praises
Peace in the name of their god
and then rape children
Harsh but true. I think it’s about time people stopped using the phrase ‘Child Abuse’ and call it what it is. Child Rape. Yeah, you know who they are…
Kids. Honestly.
My dear children
I want the best for you but…
some days you are thick
Sorry thats the best I can do. It is ten to ten and the eldest just told me he needs 6 sheets of filo, ricotta and spring onions for school tomorrow. I want nothing more to shout and protest and stomp my feet as I was about to get in bed after this post but now I am off to the Tesco just up the road. If they dont have it then I am going to the store in the next town. But that’s ok right because I am an awesome dad.
I don’t feel it, I want to make him get dressed and go himself. Oh, did I mention it’s snowing? Yeah. Loads. Id happily watch him drag his forgetful arse out in a blizzard and drive behind him shouting valuable life lessons out the window.
I can just imagine his snow chilled little face pleading to get in the car as I bellow instructions about how to put up a shelf an how to make a good first impression.
What is more annoying though is that I knew it was food tech tomorrow and forgot to check what he needs. So really I need to shout at myself. But I am way past learning.
Stupid idiots the lot of us. Right, where are my clothes I better get dressed again.

Haiku challenge using press and touch…
Ronovan provides the words. Then a haiku follows. Though mine are kinda haiku in form only and I believe senryu in every other way.
Cold winds press my cheeks
icy fingers painting white
earth feels winters touch.
Yeah see and you thought it would be all weird because it was press and touch right. Something along the lines of…
an unwelcomed touch
my name is kevin spacey
“pervert!” say the press
But I am better than that. I am. Honest.
Feel the balance baby!
Sweet scent of young love
In full bloom, unwatered
withers to nothing
see I can kinda do a normal one…
smile creeps across face
others wear mask of disgust
each loves his own farts
Aah that’s better. A little balance restored to the force…

All things do not happen for a reason. They just happen.
Aah, those chipper people who always find something positive to say no matter what. You know them right, the “everything happens for a reason” crowd. Mostly I find that they say this because a world where terrible things happen just cannot surely reconcile with what they believe. Not sure that catching aids from a blood transfusion happens for a reason myself, and no there is surely no good reason that a kid gets molested or a suicide bomber blows up a bus.
All things don’t happen for a reason, that’s a load of bollocks. Terrible things happen, that’s just part of life. It isn’t part of some big plan so stop telling me it is because your belief system cannot explain how such terrible things can happen otherwise.

Haiku challenge using ‘Short’ and ‘Sexy’. I feel I may be being set up…

hope springs eternal
like magic it inspires
until you give up
Oh lordy that was a bit bleak wasn’t it.
She feels the magic
first impressions electric
and hopes he’s not gay
Hmm no still a bit dour
Walt’s magic kingdom
bringing hope for sick children
a treat before death
Oh I think maybe I should just give up today. There was such potential for merriment and hope and things of beauty.
😉
what a mess!
Whilst I don’t dress up I do love me a great Con, and there is a quite wonderful feeling when you’re surrounded by people just like you. There are round bellied bearded men as far as the eye can see and you cannot swing a Schrodinger’s cat without clobbering a bespectacled comic-based t-shirt wearing geek.
If you’ve never been to one you should go, because they really do embody the very best in people. There is a distinct lack of wankers, twats, dicks, racist, -phobes or utter prats.
what a mess!

Guess what I did today
