Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday: CHARM and TIME

It’s something I guess

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday

I don’t take many things seriously as you probably know but I am going to make a concerted effort to do Colleen’s challenges properly when I do them. I have scant regard for the correct use of haiku and tanka and often do such beastly things to them but I think it is also important to show appreciation for the little blighters because they are so fabulous when done right.

This week the challenge was to use synonyms for CHARM and TIME.  I used COAX and AGE.

Coaxed from cold rich earth

with promise of golden clothes

she smiles and walks forth

And across the land she glides

light after an age of dark

Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge: Regal & Hopeful

To be clear, I am a big fan of the Royals.

Ronovan provides the words. Then a haiku follows.  Of sorts.

Sweet Megan Merkel

Hopeful of regal station

with ginger bollocks

Cold darkness rages

as green seeps slowly from sleep

then at last relents

and warm sun shines on my back

as I watch, bliss returning

Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge: Chance & Equal

Monday means it’s Ronovan time. This one’s for the gold diggers out there. You know who yiou are.

Ronovan provides the words. Then a haiku follows.  Of sorts.

Two loves –  equal chance

the heart decides, can’t be swayed

unless by money…

Screw you haiku

Holiday romance
Sun, sangria, sweet stranger
Rampant pubic crabs

A fat fellow quite fond of cream cake

And sweet treats, for their goodness he’d ache

Gorged on chocolate and choux

Gateaux and jam tarts too

And meringues, well they’d make his moobs shake

Ok its a limerick…the subheading is a haiku. I could fix it but…ill just leave it 🙂

Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday: Green and Patience

A grown up attempt at a tanka.

Verdent and waiting

Her sufferenace nearing end

and cold chains released

Warm, I watch her slow brush strokes

bringing the landscape to life

Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge: Slim & Chance

Let’s keep it simple shall we.

Ronovan provides the words. Then a haiku follows

One day I’ll be slim

the chance is good I reckon

should I contract aids

Screwing you haiku

Surprise!

The haiku, so proud, tight, formal. So little saying so much. Mostly though I like to defile them with the ridiculous. Oh, and I know they’re probably Senryu. I struggle with boundaries a bit.

he calls her name loud

back arched, the throes of passion

she stirs from her sleep
