2000AD Prog 78

12th of August 1978

Last week I showed you the 2000AD Ronald McDonald v Burger King episode from 1978 that will never see a reprint due to it’s copyright infringement.  Today I will bring you another from 5 weeks later.  This time they featured the Jolly Green giant and again, you’ll never see a reprint I am certain.

The prog also features Dan Dare, Ant Wars, a Future Shock and Ian Gibson’s unmistakable ROBO HUNTER art.  Love it muchly!  The back cover has a series of what were intended to be cu out cards that formed part of a board game that would be printed over a 6 week period.  I’m rather glad the person who had mine originally did not!

  1. That pilot in the Dan Dare explosion scene! I love those tiny details. Green Giant! Lol! I remember that one from my friend’s collection!

  6. I don’t know why I love these so much. I just do. The paper comics, sprawled out on the floor, dreaming, imagining stuff. I just really enjoy it. Honestly I feel like a kid. I think that is part of the reason for my liking it so much. Something about never growing up!

  7. Some of these Haven’t Seen the Light of Day since I got them 10 years ago and prior to that an old fella had them and he apparently just had them piled up all around his house

  9. Really cool! Love it! If you had me over, I’d probably tear one. LOL! I would venerate them but eventually I’d be like flipping the pages quickly, then… oops! LOL!

  14. I would definitely tear them! LOL. Not on purpose but I’d be like spilling stuff and grabbing them quickly and… oops! That’s why on my stomach on the floor with them all spread out. My fore finger and thumb… slowly… Okay! I’ma get me some comics this weekend. 50 bucks worth. I deserve it dammit!

  21. I do enjoy it myself. I feel years younger!
    I want a fat filled chocolate milk shake and a cheeseburger… a wonder woman comic. A few days of just being a kid. Would be nice.
