  1. Thanks. 🙂 we are indeed dabbling in growing stuff . peas,beans, leeks, onions, tomatoes,chillis, lettuce, herbs, strawberries…

    I bet we spent £40 on getting the fancy baskets n stuff for the strawberries. That’s about 20 punnets. So far ive had maybe ten strawberries 🙂

    But the joy of growing is hugely satisfying, if not financially wise 🙂

  2. Ha ha – been there with those big “crops” too. One time we had tomatoes in the backyard. Beefsteak tomatoes is what they were supposed to be but they never made it past the size of cherry tomatoes as squirrels and birds made it their mission to take one bite and cast them aside. Littl buggers!

  3. You might have to get some wooden or metal raised garden containers to plant them in if they persist. A friend read to “paint” them with Tabasco sauce and did that as they got a little bigger. Little buggers (squirrels and birds, squirrels mostly) still ate them.
