Where: Prague
When: December 2023
Why: Celebrate the eldrsts 18th
With: Me, the boyd and Mrs Afterwards
So not quite in the van, but a holiday away for a few days to celebrate the eldests birthday. Prague is an absolutely incredible city to visit and if you love history and old buildings and zoos and beer and markets and snow – well this is just a place for you. If you love the idea of delicious local food then this is not the place for you.
They seem to have misplaced all the delicious parts of the pig and kept only the shin’s, knuckles, cheeks, necks and other unslightly parts.
But hey, we had an absolutely fantastic time and once we got the hang of the local metro system it made it even easier to get about and we could fit more into the 4 days we were there. But this is not a travel blog and I’m just sharing a few pictures and wholly recommending it as an absolutely wonderful place to visit.

Actually and this proves my insanity, I had more of an interest in visiting Eastern Europe when it was under Communism. Your photos do look inviting though.

Looks like you crammed a lot into four days Michael. The sights and the food … even a selfie of you and ______. I’m sure your eldest (Tom?) had an 18th birthday celebration he will never forget!

Yes – having a dog is a great incentive to get those steps in. We have had unusually warm weather after our extreme cold at Christmastime. But I guess our hot spell pals in comparison to what’s going on in the UK and Europe.

Better than snow I guess Michael … the fog every morning here – ugh. You have your trusty dog for walking in the pea soup fog … over here, too many crazies in clear weather, let along walking in fog. I just read some guy came home drunk and someone was parked on the street in his parking spot (a public street mind you) and he took his SUV and pushed the car 30 feet (9 meters) out of “his spot” where he parked for the last 40 years. Many strange people these days. Lots of hoopla over Harry’s book … over here, they’ve had a lot of excerpts about it. Quite the revelations if true!

Never been out of the States, but that architecture looks amazing and the food looks pretty good too. 18… they grow up too fast!
