  1. I looked in the comments to see what the long things were in the tomato dish – I think you posted it before (maybe) and I wondered, but thought it was onions. Took a closer look and thought I got see “suckers” … so it is anchovies. Now I know why people say “no anchovies” when they order pizza. Did you hear we had a big soccer match yesterday in Ann Arbor, Michigan which is about an hour’s drive from me. It was at University of Michigan statement and was Manchester v Liverpool.

  2. It was indeed anchovies I’m rather fond of the little things. I actually did see Man United were playing Liverpool in that massive stadium now I didn’t realise you were so close to it as it looks like an amazing place for sports

  3. I have never had them – sardines yes, but years ago. My father liked herring and sardines … roll mops I think was pickled herring. He was German. U of M stadium is huge – they remodeled it a few years ago and it seats around 110,000. It is called “The Big House” and this is because it is the largest stadium in the United States and the second largest stadium in the world. I have been to the university when I had friends there, but never been to “The Big House”.

  5. I’ve never tasted them, my mom used to tell him he could have the whole jar to himself. My mom was never a fish eater – I like fish, but never had them. You can make your own mayonnaise and buy the rollmops and not feel guilty. While the World Cup was going on, our sportcasters kept reminding us how large of an event it was – the Americans were pouting since Team USA was not in this time.
