2000AD Annual 1978

Christmas 1978.

I have no idea where and when I got this but it is the 2000Ad annual from 1978, the year after 2000ad started.  It is a pretty hefty offering and features no less than 21 different stories or features. Generous indeed!  It still looks great for something nearly 40 years old!

  1. I think covers have changed a lot in the way movie posters have. I hadn’t realized until I saw this one and thought it reminded me of 1960s sci-fi movie posters, but I think maybe comic book covers and movie posters have influenced each other

  2. Maybe. I think the quality of paper has changed too, so it holds the ink better? Maybe also people are doing art on the computer so it’s the original file that gets copied. Instead of artwork that has to be photographed or scanned? It’s interesting. i never thought about how the technical aspects of art and printing may have influenced comics. I think Frazetta changed things a lot, cover wise and not just in the fantasy genre
