I will admit that for a long time I have been of the mind that the world would certainly benefit from a zombie outbreak outbreak. Maybe it isn’t a full on extinction event but just something to focus people a little and perhaps thin the population. In the past we had wars that would do that but these days war has turned into an almost corporate event and just doesn’t do the job it once did. There was a time when you could also rely on pestilence but again, we seem to mostly have that under control at the moment and as a result (whether directly or not I am yet to decide) It now takes me at least 20 minutes to get to work. There are so many vehicles on the road these days driving in the wrong lane or just generally being annoying that I am pretty sure that with an even low level event that could well be cut to 15 with the resulting thinning of the population.
If there was to be an outbreak I feel pretty good about my chances, and whilst I am not one for squirrelling away supplies or constructing a bolthole in the garden, I do have a plan that I have been putting together over the years. I know where I would get supplies, and I am confident that I could secure the house and surrounding area to keep anything but the most determined brain hungry creature at bay. I have a destination out of town that I know for certain would be a pretty great place to ride out the apocalypse and should I for any reason not be able to get out of the street I know which of the neighbours I need to deal with and in what order to ensure that precious resources aren’t wasted.
And just to be clear, the bloke at number 6 who insists on parking badly…top of my list in case we run particularly low on food.
Anyway, there is more but I am not giving it away. Make your own plan!
Happy Monday
Haha not weird at all. I have a zombie apocalypse/ general apocalypse plan also. Which includes who would help me survive and who might be or become expendable.

I hope #6 is tasty as you add him to your food supply. You can always use his brains as bait to lure the zombies away as you make your escape. #6 may well be your answer to all woes of the zombie kind.

Fortune favors the prepared mind … Louis Pasteur.
Today we had two episodes of barricaded gunmen shooting randomly in two different neighborhoods. One took his own life, the other one is still locked up and his parents were allowed to leave the house safely. We had two similar episodes last week. One the week before. The news reporter this morning asked neighbors who were told to stay in their basements if they felt secure in their own house – a few of them said “no, I wish I had a safe room” … kinda telling about the state of the world.

I am not one for Zombie preparations, being as they don’t exist and are made up and all that. However I am in general agreement with thinning the population out and can see the benefits of Brexit now that it’s definitely not going to be a ‘Mad Max style dystopia’ (which, as David Davis said it, means it definitely is.)

David Davis would be quite safe from zombie attack given their love of brains 🙂

Do you have a secret cache of guns? That’s what you really need. That and to watch “Zombie Land.” That will give you the best advice on how to survive a zombie apocalypse.

It is beyond crazy Michael … the first barricaded gunmen committed suicide; the second one just came out of the house after the police put tear gas in there after a 13-hour standoff. This type of stuff happens every day anymore. As to the school shooting last week, the sad thing is that it was the 18th school shooting in the U.S. in 2018 and this was really the first one in the news. We have these “kid terrorism” issues all the time – had one today, a 7th grader took a gun to school as he had a grudge against a classmate. SMH

uh huh, until you get hungry. or the zombies are chasing you. On the other hand, throwing parking idiots to the wolves is understandable.

Yes, and the kids have a big march scheduled in Washington on March 24th – interesting to see where they go with it. I predict it will be as big as the Women’s March the day after Trump’s inauguration.
I saw on Twitter today that George and Amal Clooney are donating a half-million dollars to help subsidize that march.

Agreed – we need a lot of help over here and it starts not only with gun purchase reform but ther youngsters … had another one who sent a Snapchat message that he wanted to create the Florida shooting … the recipient of the message reported him … in jail now.

I don’t think it’s an insurmountable problem it’s just going to take a will and a resistance to the NRA who have the money and the politicians who are willing to accept it

I agree with you – I don’t really think they are going to get the relief requested unfortunately, but maybe bringing it to light will help to showcase their cause.

I joined in a zombie run in an abandoned brickworks a few years back. Scary, but fun, those actors took their roles a bit too seriously for my liking! Would I stand a chance against a real one? No chance!
